The Exmouth Chiropractic clinic is holding an open coffee morning on
Saturday the 12th of January to help you on your way.

There will be a short talk by
Dr David Evans one of our resident Chiropractors
at 10.30am explaining Chiropractic care.
Safe for all ages and aimed at our entire general health, fitness and well-being.

There will also be complimentary spinal checks for visitors new to the clinic.

"I am very excited about joining the team at Dr. Martineau’s Chiropractic Clinic.

I have been a therapist for more than 20 years and have practised Acupuncture for the last 10 years in East Devon. As well as being at the Exmouth practice every Tuesday, I also work in Sidmouth and Axminster. Before being a therapist I worked as a psychiatric nurse for several years.

Acupuncture is a system of healing which has been in continuous use in China and the East for thousands of years. It is very effective for such conditions as arthritis, back pain, sciatica, hormonal irregularities, digestive and circulatory problems as well as emotional health problems. Some people have acupuncture to strengthen their constitution and immune system or just to help them feel better in themselves.

I have specialist training in the use of acupuncture for addictions such as smoking; pregnancy management, childbirth and fertility issues. I also practice Facial Revitalisation Acupuncture (FRA) which is relatively new to the UK. WORLD SPINE DAY 16TH OCTOBER 2007 

Our spines are a remarkable combination of bones, Ligaments , tendons and muscles that are incredibly strong, protecting our nerve roots and spinal cords. Most of us take our backs and spines for granted until something goes wrong.
Back pain is as common as the cold with eight out of ten adults experiencing acute pain in their lifetime. It is the second most common reason for missed workdays .


Back pain comes from many causes . It can be a direct result of a fall or injury. be brought on by heavy or awkward lifting or by nerves being pressed on and is common in conditions such as arthritis

Poor posture is a common trigger along with activities such as housework, DIY, gardening , sleeping, or sitting at a computer for extended periods of time.

However you don’t need to take back pain lying down! Stay active! and continue with normal activities as far as possible

chiropractic care can hasten your recovery and prevent further problems.

You can also help prevent back pain by looking after your spine and general health.

Get Exercise and keep your back muscles strong and supple
Have good Posture
Sleep on a bed with a firm mattress.
Lift sensibly and correctly
Lose Weight – as being overweight can put extra stress on your back
Visit your chiropractor as you would your dentist
